At HMS Networks, cybersecurity is a central part of how we develop and protect our products, from embedded systems to the software tools used to configure and manage them.
We are now looking for a student who wants to step into this world and gain hands-on experience in technical cybersecurity work, performing practical penetration testing.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants more than theory and is eager to explore how cybersecurity is applied in real industrial products used globally.
During your AFU, you will become part of our ongoing cybersecurity work within product development.
Your assignment will be focusing on hands-on penetration testing of our embedded products.
This means that your work will involve practical testing of our embedded systems - identifying vulnerabilities, challenging existing protections and helping us better understand where security can be strengthened.

This creates a unique opportunity to combine cybersecurity engineering, offensive testing, secure software thinking, and real product development — applying cybersecurity in real products, not just in theory.
You are currently studying Cybersecurity, Information Security or Computer Engineering and have an interest in cybersecurity, and are at least in your third year of studies. You may be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
We do not expect you to be a finished expert, this is a student opportunity built around learning by doing.
What matters most is that you have a genuine curiosity for technical security work and enjoy digging into how systems function, where weaknesses may exist, and how protection can be improved.
You are likely someone who enjoys understanding not only how something works, but also how it can break, be challenged or be secured.
Good communication skills in both Swedish and English are important since you will work in an international engineering environment.
