ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining modern data solutions in a cloud environment. You will work with large-scale data processing, developing efficient pipelines and data models that support analytics, reporting, and business insights.

Your work will include building robust ETL/ELT processes, optimizing data flows, and ensuring that data is structured, reliable, and easy to use for stakeholders across the organization.

You will collaborate with data specialists, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

Design and develop scalable data pipelines and integration solutions
Build and maintain business-ready solutions on modern PaaS/SaaS data platforms, such as Microsoft Fabric
Develop ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Azure Data Factory and SSIS
Work with T-SQL for data modeling, data warehousing, and database development
Use Apache Spark for distributed data processing and performance optimization
Contribute to the evolution of our modern data platform, architecture, and best practices
Improve data reliability, scalability, and performance across our data solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision making across the organization

ABOUT YOU

You are a structured and curious Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building reliable data solutions. You combine strong technical skills with the ability to collaborate with different teams and explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way.

You are comfortable working in a modern cloud-based environment and enjoy improving systems, optimizing data flows, and learning new technologies.

We believe you bring:

Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures
Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT development and large-scale data processing
Experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar data integration tools
Solid T-SQL skills and experience working with data warehouses and data modeling
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for distributed data processing
The ability to work in an agile and collaborative environment

It is considered a plus if you also have:

Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture, pipelines, or notebooks (Python/PySpark)
Experience integrating ERP/CRM data sources, such as Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Customer Engagement
Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data solutions
Relevant Microsoft certifications such as DP-900, DP-203, DP-400, DP-600, or DP-700

At the time you apply for a job

We process the following information that is submitted by yourself or a recruiter, in case we use an external partner, during the recruitment process.

Information in personal letter and CV that you provide

Your personal data will be kept in confidence and we will hold it as long as necessary for the recruitment process and for a period not exceeding 2 years thereafter. We store the information for 2 years referring to the Swedish law of negation order (förhandlingsordningen).

If you are selected for an interview

If you are selected for an interview we may, for some positions, perform tests that are computer-based, like personality tests or testing of skills. You always get information about the test before you are invited. The results from these tests are stored for maximum one year after the recruitment process ends.

External data processors

We use external data processors to provide us with different services, including:

IT service providers (Hosting, back-up, cloud solutions etc.)
Companies providing testing services
Recruitment companies (specific positions)

These service providers are only allowed to process information on behalf of HMS and as specifically instructed by us.

Protection of your data

For us it is important that your data is safe. We use up-to-date data protection mechanisms and has a good security posture.

HMS Industrial Network entities ensure due care and take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the personal data and communication data provided, collected and/or stored on our systems and shall not retain it any longer than permitted in order to perform its services or as required under relevant legislation.

Your personal data can only be accessed by authorized employees of HMS Industrial Network that need to have access to this data in order to be able to fulfil their given duties.

Data storage and location

Your application is stored on servers within the EU/EEA.

When performing tests during recruitment, the test service provider may store data outside EU/EEA. Such transfer is only made if the recipient of the data is located in a country which provides an adequate level of protection following a European Commission adequacy decision or if appropriate safeguards as within the EU have been provided by executing standard contractual clauses.
