Thesis Project: IT/AI Development – Support for Sustainability Issues

HMS was founded from following a thesis project from the University of Halmstad, Sweden and we haven't forgotten our roots! We highly value the fresh ideas, can-do attitude and collaborative input students and young talents give us.
Within Global Sustainability, we are continuously working on improvements and optimizing our ways of handling various requests from multiple stakeholders (internal and external). As part of this initiative, we have attempted to create a library of responses to streamline communication. However, with an increasing volume of inquiries, we see an opportunity to explore automation to reduce administrative tasks and enhance efficiency through AI-driven solutions.
ABOUT THE THESIS
BACKGROUND
We are seeking a student to examine our current ways of working and explore the potential of AI-based automation. The focus of this thesis will be to analyze existing processes, identify areas where automation can reduce manual efforts, and develop an AI-supported framework that enhances response management while maintaining quality and accuracy.
OBJECTIVES
- Evaluate the current request management system and response library
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce administration
- Explore AI capabilities to optimize response efficiency
- Propose and, if possible, implement a prototype solution
ABOUT YOU
You are a student with an interest in IT, AI development, and sustainability, preferably with experience in automation or machine learning. You are also:
- Passionate about finding practical and scalable solutions to sustainability challenges.
- Able to work independently, but also eager to collaborate with our team and different stakeholders.
- Strong in critical thinking and have a problem-solving mindset.
This thesis project offers a great opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts while working on innovative AI-driven solutions.
