ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role within our new initiative, you'll join a small, agile team within HMS working closely with key customers and our R&D organization. Your work will include designing, adapting, and delivering embedded software solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.

Projects vary in size and complexity – from focused modules to integrated system deliveries – giving you the opportunity to work across different technologies and continuously grow your technical skills. Whether you're early in your career or bring many years of experience, you'll contribute to delivering high-impact, real-world solutions.

This role is based at our new Gothenburg office, with a hybrid work model that supports both flexibility and work-life balance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop and deliver embedded software solutions based on customer and system requirements
Collaborate closely with customers, product managers, and R&D teams
Work across various technologies, platforms, and communication protocols
Contribute to both short-term and long-term software projects
Adapt and reuse existing software components where possible, while also innovating when needed
Take part in improving internal methods, tools, and ways of working

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a curious and driven developer who enjoys working in a dynamic environment with close customer interaction. You are a strong team player with a problem-solving mindset and a solid foundation in embedded systems.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
0–10 years of relevant experience – we welcome both junior and experienced developers
Solid knowledge of C/C++ for embedded systems
Familiarity with real-time operating systems and low-level programming
Good communication skills and team mindset – whether you're more introverted or extroverted
Bonus: experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, EtherNet/IP) is an advantage

If you are selected for an interview

If you are selected for an interview we may, for some positions, perform tests that are computer-based, like personality tests or testing of skills. You always get information about the test before you are invited. The results from these tests are stored for maximum one year after the recruitment process ends.

External data processors

We use external data processors to provide us with different services, including:

IT service providers (Hosting, back-up, cloud solutions etc.)
Companies providing testing services
Recruitment companies (specific positions)

These service providers are only allowed to process information on behalf of HMS and as specifically instructed by us.

Protection of your data

For us it is important that your data is safe. We use up-to-date data protection mechanisms and has a good security posture.

HMS Industrial Network entities ensure due care and take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the personal data and communication data provided, collected and/or stored on our systems and shall not retain it any longer than permitted in order to perform its services or as required under relevant legislation.

Your personal data can only be accessed by authorized employees of HMS Industrial Network that need to have access to this data in order to be able to fulfil their given duties.

Data storage and location

Your application is stored on servers within the EU/EEA.

When performing tests during recruitment, the test service provider may store data outside EU/EEA. Such transfer is only made if the recipient of the data is located in a country which provides an adequate level of protection following a European Commission adequacy decision or if appropriate safeguards as within the EU have been provided by executing standard contractual clauses.
