We are excited to offer projects within different unique master thesis projects ideas that focus on creating sustainable solutions in industrial communication technology (ICT). These projects provide a fantastic opportunity for students who want to contribute to a more sustainable future through innovation, critical thinking, and research.

OUR SUGGESTIONS FOR PROJECTS

1. Risk Management within Sustainability

Review Risk Management at HMS and identify what is needed from a TCFD perspective at HMS. Aim to do a pre-studie and a draft on TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) for HMS.
You will need to have competence within Sustainability and Risk Management. Since this assignment is connected to CSRD - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the TCFD will be part of the annual reporting.
In this you will have to be able to analyse the data from HMS and the current annual report incl HMS Risks to understand the gap. By this if needed arrange interviews or needed workshops to build a plan for HMS to have TCFD in the annual report.
As a person your strength are communication, analytic and a problem solver. It is more a complex task and thereby you need to embrace and love a challenge, preferred to have an Environmental education with and understanding of the ESG and sustainability development goals, climate change etc as a background.
Here you need to have the ability to be working by yourself. It is important to be able to be at the HQ in Halmstad and if needed there is also possibility to work from distance, according to alignment with HMS. The scope of the assignment can also change based on competence & background.
Important internal stakeholders: Director Sustainability & Quality, Global Sustainability Coordinator, Group Finance Director and COO.

2. Master data within Sustainability

Awareness, data & efficiency are the key to success. Within Sustainability at HMS, we have a great deal of data points and different requirements. The assignment is to review the available material & data at HMS and identify ways of working smarter with data and pre-studie on needed training session knowledge even more internally. Example of sessions are (CSRD, SBTi, Environmental awareness etc).
In this assignment there is no need to be an expert within the sustainability area rather have general awareness of it. You need to have experience of creating content and material based on audience incl having IT knowledge within data.
Here you need to have the ability to be working by yourself. It is important to be able to be at the HQ in Halmstad and if needed there is also possibility to work from distance, according to alignment with HMS. The scope of the assignment can also change based on competence & background.

3. Sustainability Commitment - CDP – Carbon Disclosure Project

With Sustainability we are part of reporting towards CDP, the assignment is to review Ways of Working and identify best way of reporting including the value of reporting. Outcome to create a proposal on future reporting.
In this we need to understand the scoring and get an overview on what we need to archive to improve our scoring. The assignment includes having dialogue with contact and benchmark what others are doing within this area.
In the assignment it is important to understand the UN Sustainability Development Goals, Awareness of process Management and Risk. Important to be able to work and communicate to different stakeholders.
Here you need to have the ability to be working by yourself, you do not need to be at the HQ often, but it is important to understand the culture and the need / the scope.

If you are selected for an interview

If you are selected for an interview we may, for some positions, perform tests that are computer-based, like personality tests or testing of skills. You always get information about the test before you are invited. The results from these tests are stored for maximum one year after the recruitment process ends.

External data processors

We use external data processors to provide us with different services, including:

IT service providers (Hosting, back-up, cloud solutions etc.)
Companies providing testing services
Recruitment companies (specific positions)

These service providers are only allowed to process information on behalf of HMS and as specifically instructed by us.

For us it is important that your data is safe. We use up-to-date data protection mechanisms and has a good security posture.

HMS Industrial Network entities ensure due care and take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the personal data and communication data provided, collected and/or stored on our systems and shall not retain it any longer than permitted in order to perform its services or as required under relevant legislation.

Your personal data can only be accessed by authorized employees of HMS Industrial Network that need to have access to this data in order to be able to fulfil their given duties.

Data storage and location

Your application is stored on servers within the EU/EEA.

When performing tests during recruitment, the test service provider may store data outside EU/EEA.
