HMS Market Unit North is growing and are now looking to strengthen the team with a result-oriented Internal Sales Engineer.


Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Pre-qualify incoming customer inquiries and support our regional sales managers.
  • Take ownership of set KPI’s, ensuring consistent and high-quality communication with customers.
  • Proactively identify and pursue additional business opportunities with existing customers to cross sell, on-sell and up sell.
  • Collaborate with external sales teams to optimize customer experience and deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Attend sales meetings and provide accurate and timely information as required.
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing activities to contribute to the sales funnel.
  • Enhance your product knowledge with in-house training.
  • Utilize dynamics 365 confidently.

In this role, you report to the Commercial Director UK.


To succeed in the role, you possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for building and maintaining relationships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating a high degree of adaptability to changing priorities. You have a proven ability to see projects and tasks through to completion, showcasing strong planning capabilities on a daily basis. Additionally, you possess a natural telephone manner, effectively engaging with customers at all levels.


  • Previous experience in sales or account management, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient in using internal systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A good standard of education, particularly in Maths & English.
  • Knowledge of Automation and Control products is advantageous.
